Welcome Woods Creek Montessori 2009-2010 Buildings & Grounds Parent Team!

Thanks for signing up to serve on the B&G Team. As you will recall, parent teams have been established on the basis of preferences that you provided on the Parent Team Form in the spring or at the time of your child’s enrollment in the school. In some cases, many people chose the same team as their first choice and it was necessary to even out team participation by assigning parents to their second or third choice. Every effort was made to assign each parent to a team that would be a good fit. To review the description of each team, please see the letter Nancy Smith, Cooperative Coordinator, included in the August mailing packet.

Parents are mainly responsible for helping to fulfill the goals and work of their principal team. However, in order to make it as easy as possible for you to fulfill the 6 hour/semester work commitment, you will also receive announcements about activities on other teams that you ranked. Please join those work efforts as you are able.

Two WCM Board Members act as liaisons to B&G Team, John Keyser and Karla Murdock.

John and Karla are responsible for:

  • Setting the B&G agenda for the year
  • Communicating with the Board about B&G issues
  • Working with the Director to address anticipated and unanticipated B&G needs
  • Helping to define and supply materials for specific B&G jobs


    • Our team is very fortunate to have Jennifer Letter and Erik Stieler as Team Leaders.

    Jennifer and Erik are responsible for:

  • Communicating with John and Karla regarding the B&G agenda and needs as they arise
  • Helping to define and organize logistics for specific B&G jobs
  • Delegating responsibility for specific B&G jobs to Team Members on an ongoing basis
  • Recruiting Team Members and WCM community members to participate in work days


    • We have a very strong and skilled B&G Parent Team this year, so we will do great things!

    Team Members are responsible for:

  • Providing ideas and feedback to Board Liaisons and Parent Team Leaders regarding B&G agenda and needs
  • Kindly responding, as promptly as possible, to Parent Team Leaders regarding availability for requested help
  • Providing independent leadership for specific B&G work days and/or jobs
  • Helping to recruit WCM community members to participate in work days


    • Our work on the B&G Team will directly impact the safety, beauty, and functionality of the WCM campus. Cheers to a fun and productive year of working together!
