Primary II Building Back In Action!

Dear WCM Families:
We are delighted to announce that work has been completed on the Primary II building and all WCM classes will return to their regular locations beginning on Monday, October 26th. Peter Palmer, our environmental consultant, has conducted air quality tests throughout the process and reports that the Primary II building is ready to be re-inhabited.

The first two months of this school year have required a great deal of flexibility from the WCM staff, families, and Board of Directors, and we appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding. We have done our best to provide periodic updates to WCM families regarding the campus assessment, Primary II remediation, and relocation of students across our classroom spaces. However, it has been necessary for us to focus most of our attention and time toward coordinating the work on campus. This process has unfolded quickly, and thus it has been difficult to provide more substantive information along the way without running the risk of communicating news that is incomplete, misleading or unhelpful. By the end of October, the Buildings and Grounds Committee, in collaboration with Peter Palmer, will provide to WCM families a summary of the assessment and remediation process that has occurred this fall. We hope that understanding the full context of the process will be most helpful to everyone.

At this point we can be confident that all of the WCM classrooms are safe for children. We know that everyone will be happy to return to their regular classroom spaces on Monday. Parents may want to talk with their children over the weekend to prepare them for this shift.

Sincerely,

Christi Crittenden, Executive Director

Susan Cunningham, President, WCM Board of Directors
